2014 Soil Science:

Precision Agriculture and Integrated Nutrient Management need to pull together with all the knowledge gained in the science and practice of organic agriculture as well as total soil nutrition to feed the vibrancy of the soil beyond what the 17 essential plant nutrients can do.

The soil is nutritionally optimized by animal nutrition and then feeds back the non-essential plant nutrients into the food produced providing balanced human and animal nutrition naturally. At the same time such total nutrient balancing achieves the highest level of soil health which provides resistance to plant disease, leaching, and nitrification, while slowing the burning up of soil organic matter.
